end of the day, nicolas was getting tired and a little cranky, but we somehow managed to lift his spirits just a bit:
appetizer talk
nicolas loves to eat. and he usually gets pretty animated before each meal while he's having a few cheerios:
nicolas eats with a spoon
he's able to feed himself with a spoon now ... as long as we load the spoon up each time. he'd just eaten an entire bowl of carrots, so dad is giving him kind of a hard time about his appetite. the doctor assures us he won't always eat like this though, and it's perfectly normal. we're just a little stunned every time we feed him because he can eat so much, and so fast!
9 month checkup
The good news: Dr. Ladd thinks Nicolas is doing great. Here are his stats at a little over 9 mos: wt. 22 lbs 9 oz ht. 27 1/4" head circumference 17 3/4" The bad news: getting weighed at the doctor's office isn't fun anymore and shots still HURT:

nicolas turned 9 months old last thursday. his personality keeps developing - he's turning into this great little guy. and he makes every day - even the tough ones - a real joy.
